The Energyzer Backrest™ Genesis & Storyline:
We are long-time health practitioners, physical therapists and project managers who worked with 5 chiropractors to design, engineer and develop a unique way to support the back vertically along the erector spinae muscles that forms an open channel between them. This back-energy support system facilitates the flow of electro-chemical neurological communication from the brain down the brain stem (the spine) to all parts of the body and back. The open channel also receives the spinous process to protect them from hard seat backrests. After 7 years of R&D, 2 USPTO Patents have been granted.
Paul’s story:
My 101-year-old independent mother raised me with a focus on health, wellness and holistic health care. When I left ‘the nest’ I increased my education and amplified this mindset and as a vocation throughout life. As an architect, I spent many hours designing while sitting at a CAD workstation. Focusing on my task for hours resulted in back discomfort, fatigue and occasional discomfort; all reduced my clarity of thought and productivity.
When I injured my back. The most relief I found was using the Energyzer Backrest™ while lying on my back on the floor and in the bed, and on my couch, which has a reclining back. Chris’s story:
As a physical therapist, I traveled many miles working in home health care. I noticed back soreness and fatigue at the end of the day. My car seat, although adjustable with built in lumbar support, did not provide the comfort I needed. When I used the Energyzer Backrest™ my spine was aligned properly, my sitting posture was improved, and I was more alert and less fatigued. I realized this was because car seats and backrests currently available stress the back by putting pressure on the spinous processes (the bones that you feel running down the center of your back). That causes discomfort and an interruption of the energy flowing along the prime meridian of the body. The open channel that is formed between the comfortable vertical supports of the Energyzer Backrest™ provides the space for the spinous processes to intrude and energy flows freely. The lightweight, portable Energyzer Backrest™ is easy to attach to my car seat with adjustable straps. Using it has really helped to make my travel time more comfortable and enjoyable.
My husband and I live active lifestyles. We eat nutritious foods, exercise daily, practice Qigong, hike, bike, swim, canoe, boat, hunt and fish. Yet at the end of our busy days working at professions, raising five children, serving in the church and community we experienced sore backs and fatigue like so many other people.
So, we teamed up our professional skills in western and eastern health science and practice with chiropractors. With expertise in human anatomy and physiology coupled with design skills we developed and patented a unique health-enhancing, comfortable, adjustable and energizing back support that eliminated or alleviated our back problems – the Energyzer Backrest™.
